DJ Keren

Keren moved to Brighton from Oxfordshire in 1996 where she taught herself to DJ on vinyl. She has always loved music of various genres, including 80’s, 90’s, pop, disco, soul, funk, Indie & others. From a very young age, Keren made mixtapes from music that she heard on the radio! She begun playing and mixing house but her first ever gig was Drum and Bass and Jungle at Middlesex uni, where she was also approached and asked to play regularly on the radio.

Back in the days of vinyl she played pretty much all over Brighton, and had residencies at the Honey Club, Escape, Ocean rooms, Candy Bar, Storm and was half of the night called Kinky Dangerous that ran for 10 years (at Envy and then Revenge). She set this up with another DJ (Duo). She sometimes uses the brand for nights and currently play for the Radio Station Decadance under the show name ‘Kinky Dangerous’ monthly. Kinky Dangerous has a great following and people have supported the brand for over 13 years now. She also played in London for a night called French Kiss and Smack at venues including the Egg, and also for Torture Gardens at Mass, Coronet and Colosseum. She has played for the night ‘Code and Mint’ in London. She is predominately and historically a house DJ but the type/kind of house depends on the venue and time of day. She can play soulful house/ classic house/ disco house/ funky house/ deep house/main room/ commercial house and tech house. Keren loves vocals and pianos!

More recently and currently Keren is a resident at the Brighton British Airways i360, and has played for various corporate events at the seafront location. The music style has been dependant on the event, with the customers requirements at the forefront of each individual event. The music played will always be tailored to suit the audience and Kerens’ experience of DJing shows the ability to read the crowd, and she is able to change it up if she feels the party needs some energy injecting!

Keren has had the pleasure of playing the girls dance tent at Brighton Pride for ten years, and her biggest gig was the main dance tent a few years ago just before Fatboy Slim (more than 10,000 people in the tent with live streaming all over the world), and she supported Low Steppa in the main room at the Arch a couple of years ago.

Recent gigs include Bitch Please at The Tempest and Hideous Kinky at Hideout, C-Side at Back beat bar,  Hektik (from Leeds) at Zahara club and Cocoon at Zahara club. Also Block bar on Sundays.

She played at The edge Southampton monthly, the Tempest various different nights, Code and French kiss In London, the Girls Dance Tent for BRIGHTON Pride (for 10 years), the Street party, Concorde, Greens reunion at the Tempest, Patterns for Sunday Sundae, Oh so, Coalition and the Arch.

Keren has a passion for music and to make her audience smile and dance. Her infectious energy brings happiness and enjoyment to all the parties she plays at.

Keren provides her own equipment which includes a lighting rig with laser, Co/smoke machine, UV light, pioneer XDJ-XZ controller and Thump speakers.
